It's a Girl for sure! (I hope)

So we finally went for our 3d ultrasound and found out that it's a girl!! I am so happy, I can't even believe it! Her name will be Sophia Gianna Holko. I already started shopping and I must say that buying little girl clothes is so much fun! There are so many more options than when I shop for little Thomas. Here's a picture from our ultrasound:

That's all I got right now, Thomas is on the verge on a fit so I must go. More updates to come!

*maybe* it's a girl.

Today I'm 16 weeks 4 days. Time seems to be dragging on right now because we're patiently waiting to find out what our sweet little baby is. We had an ultrasound at the hospital on Tuesday and they just couldn't tell for sure. They thought they saw something very small, but not big enough to be a penis so two different ultrasound techs gave it a guess and they both guessed a girl. The rest of the ultrasound was really great. The tech had 3 students in the room that she was teaching using my ultrasound so we really got to see a lot. We left feeling a little disappointed but James said we should get a 3D scan done in a couple weeks. So I made an appointment for April 3rd. We should definitely be able to tell that day. My sister and possibly my mom will be coming along with James and I. We are really excited to see our little baby in 3D! It was such a fun experience with Thomas. I'm about 80% sure it's a girl just because I caught a couple glimpses in between the legs and I saw nothing. James is almost positive it's a girl, even though he was hoping for another boy lol. We shall see soon enough! Other than all that nothing too eventful is going on around these parts. I've been feeling pretty good for the most part, just a little queasy at night still. I *think* I've felt the baby a couple of times but it's still not very strong. Thomas is doing very well. He's getting to be such a little man with all his talking and running around. He is very much into cars, trucks and trains. Typical boy =) I lubs him..

isn't *she* so cute!? It looks like there is a little heart by her ♥

Its been a while!

Its been just about 6 weeks since I last updated! I was sooo sick there for a while. I've had one O.B. appt since I last updated and it was an interesting one. My doctor prescribed me some medicine for all my morning sickness, first he gave me phenergan which kind of worked but made me very, very tired and then he ended up perscribing me zofran. Zofran is a miracle drug in case you were wondering. It has saved my life. It got me through not only through my terrible morning sickness but it got me through the flu twice in 6 weeks. Back to my doctor appt. He said that typically when you go into labor early the first time you will with the second as well, and also that when your labor is quick (mine was an hour and a half) that it is usually quicker in the next labor. So, he would like to start checking my cervix earlier this time around and if I start dilating early he will do an amniocentesis at 36 weeks to check for the baby's lung maturity. If the baby's lungs are ready he will induce me at the 36 week point following the amnio. He wants to keep things under better control this time around. He is worried that if I go into labor on my own I will go so quick that things will be chaos again and I may not be able to have an epidural. I'm still not sure if I want one this time around or not. The amniocentesis really scares me though, its a big needle they stick in your stomach to take some amniotic fluid to test for various things. I have heard it doesn't hurt. So other than all my worrying I am finally starting to feel better on my own now that I am in my 12th week of pregnancy (as of tomorrow I'll be 13 weeks). This pregnancy has been difficult to say the least. I am definitely ready to get into my 2nd trimester. I remember feeling great during the middle couple months with Thomas. We should be finding out the sex of our baby in about 3 weeks! Time is starting to fly by! If the baby is a girl we have already picked out a name, Sophia Gianna/Gionna. If it's a boy, we'll be back to the drawing board. I had Sophia picked for Thomas if he was going to be a girl so it was an easy pick. Outside of baby updates nothing much has been going on except I GOT ENGAGED! Finally =) I really couldn't be any happier. We will set a definite date after we have the baby, but we are aiming for fall of 2011. I can't wait. I'll post some pictures of my ring and my 12 week belly below! Thanks for reading! =)

In case of baby fever in the future...

Dear Self,

I am writing you this note just in case for some reason it completely slips your mind how miserable you were during your first trimester of pregnancy with your second child, just as your memory failed you after your first pregnancy. If in fact you get baby fever again please refer back to this note so that it may jog your memory. You are now in your 7Th week of pregnancy. It has been 2 weeks of complete and utter torcher (only about 7 more weeks to go). From the time you wake up in the morning until the time you close your eyes at night you are nauseous, tired and extremely irritable. Up until 2 days ago when Doctor Baky prescribed you Phenergan for your sickness you were vomiting and crying while camped out in the bathroom all while trying to care for poor Thomas who had a cold. Everyday is the longest day of your life. Two children is perfectly enough and there is no need for a third. Please do not let your emotions get the better of you when you see tiny babies and your heart skips a beat.  For the sake of your own sanity and for the sake of those around you please don't have anymore babies after this. Go buy a puppy.

The end,
Amy

Where the heck did my spell check go!?

All of a sudden I have no spell check. I'm a pretty bad speller too, so this could end bad. Anyways, today was my first appointment with my O.B. It went very well! He gave me a couple things to try for all the nausea I've been having and a perscription for some prenatal vitamins. I also had an ultrasound done! Heres the very first picture of our new baby:

Really not too much to see yet. He said I'm right around 6 weeks, which is where I thought I would be.  I asked him what the chances of me going into labor early would be since I had Thomas at 36 weeks. He told me that the chances were pretty high but nothing to worry about. I have some blood work to get done in the next 2 weeks and then I go back for my 2nd appointment on January 14th.  I forgot about all the doctor visits and tons of testing I went though the last time. Bring it on!

Sick!

There is a group of women out there that think they didn’t get morning sickness because they wouldn’t allow themselves to. Like, they think throwing up all day, every day is a state of mind.

“Oh, I just wouldn’t allow myself to throw up,” she says while rubbing her nonexistent belly. “So I didn’t.”

Any pregnant woman that comes across these types of women should turn the other way and run as fast as she can (which might just be lumbering gently away). Why? This woman has the “Miracle of Life Syndrome.”

Every little gas pain and tummy rumble is special. They feel like they’re “glowing” and just love every last bit of pregnancy, right down to the hemorrhoids.

You do not want to be friends with these women. They will brag about “easy” labors. Their babies will sleep through the night by the end of the first week.

Worst of all? She’ll be fitting into her “skinny jeans” by her six week postpartum checkup. Never trust a woman that can fit into her skinny jeans that quickly.

Find yourself someone with hyperemesis. She won’t ask if you “tried crackers.” She’ll be truthful about labor and will be your friend in sweatpants for that first year after the baby.Never underestimate the value of a friendship where you can go grocery shopping together in your pajamas. -The Sarcastic Journalist

So I'm feeling pretty crappy these last couple days.  I'm so sick to my stomach that I can barely get off the couch.  I'm really trying my best to give every little bit of attention I have in me to play with Thomas. My house is a wreck and I feel like I'm going to vomit every second of the day. Nothing seems to help.  With Thomas I was feeling pretty yucky until I was about 15 weeks. Well I'm somewhere around 6 weeks so I guess only 9 more weeks of sickness! ahhh! I keep trtying to tell myself that it is all for a good cause, and it is, so that keeps me going.  Tuesday is my first appointment. Wish me luck!!

4 Weeks

Here I am at 4 weeks pregnant. Not too much different from what I usually look like. I'm feeling rather bloated right now and sooo exhausted! I can't wait for my first doctor appointment, which won't be until after Christmas. I guess nothing really shows up until around 7 weeks (outside of a little yolk sack).  The last couple days have been fairly uneventful.  I've been just laying around for the most part. It took every ounce of energy to clean the downstairs of my house today. I'm determined to make it to the gym tomorrow. I haven't been there for about a week.  Working out a little bit each day really made a world of difference when I was pregnant with Thomas.
